Reflective Diary of Seminar on Current Affairs
Week 1
Here, I would like to reflect on lecture week 1. Week 1 was from 14th January 2013 to 18th January 2013. For me, my lecture schedule was on Wednesday, 16th January 2013 at Lecture Theatre 1 (LT 1) and my tutorial lecturer was with Mr. John Britto Parisutham. My lecture schedule for week 1 was on 16th January 2013.
This time was my first lecture session in lecture theatre 1 for Seminar on Current Affairs. At this time, we studied about the introduction of current affairs. Current affairs were about what was going on in the world. We could get the current affairs/situations from TV and other social medias. From TV, we could get much information from all over the world. For me myself, my current affairs were about English Premier League (EPL). From EPL, I could know the latest issue going on in this world.
In tutorial session, we were taught about the course outline. These were some topics which we would study in this trimester: dominant current issue, conflict and conflict area, globalisation, emigration, United Nations (UN), and Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
From this week, I reflected that we needed to know the current affairs / current issues around the world. Everyone had different perception on their current issue. Like what I told before, my current affairs were about English Premier League (EPL). Other people might have different view of current affairs. They might want to know the latest news about the politics around the world or they might want to know the latest hair style around the world. However, the main thing was we needed to know the latest issues going on in our surrounding.
