Conflicts

There is no doubt that the Seminar on Current affairs is still holding its title for the most interesting subject of this trimester. It can clearly be seen from the hot discussions about the issues and class teaching styles, students` opinions of the current issues and etc. With the exception of many other students the pace of my interests to this subject and current issues are incredibly high. This subject is not only making the students aware of the issues around, but it is building a strong fundament to overcome the issues worldwide. Unlike the lectures in the previous weeks, more attention was paid to general concepts, like the roots and types of conflicts rather than talking about the issues themselves.

The definition of the conflict was clearly explained by the lecturer and followed by the origins of the conflict, the nature of the conflict, environment of the conflict, types of the conflict and etc. In turn, the graphs and visuals those shows where the conflicts are widespread become very useful to understand the issue and territories of the countries where there is a conflict. Nonetheless, here I want to indicate that in one map Uzbekistan is given as a place where the conflict exists and intense in rate. I can say that it is not correct and detailed information. Because, I am from Uzbekistan, from capital Tashkent, and I have never seen any conflicts those go with weapons. It is not about siting the side of my country, it is about the reality.

Nevertheless, I got beneficial insights from this class. Prior to this time I have not known the types of the conflicts, used to call them war or conflict between countries. But now, I can distinguish what kind of conflict the country is encountering.

As I stated above, one of the main objectives of the course is to prevent the issues rather than defeating. It is said, it is better to prevent the illness rather than curing.  For example, there are around 160 students in one lecture hall, and they are from different countries and backgrounds. And some of them will probably become the deputy in their countries or work in organizations which protect the human rights or prevent the wars like UN and etc. As being aware of the consequences of the conflicts, I am sure they will endeavor to decrease the rate of conflicts.
