Causes and Effects of Global Warming

Introduction

In the present world we constantly hear the word global warming, also nowadays this issue seriously discussed in the most of the forums and conferences. This research paper will discuss the matters on causes of global warming and its results on the environment, below the topic of ‘Causes and Effects of Global Warming’. Initially, global warming means incensement in temperature in the earth’s atmosphere and ocean (Wikipedia) this can be occur by in couple of ways one is naturally; it means without any human influence and the second is unnaturally ; by the influence of human being. Even though there are two ways causes global warming, but human beings activities influences highly than the nature’s participant on global warming. This research paper will provide clear understanding on top three massive causes and effects of global warming. A research indicate major three Causes of global warming are: 1)Carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel burning from power plants, 2)Carbon dioxide emissions from burning gasoline from transportation, 3) Deforestation. These are the leading causes for the global warming. On the other side it resulted in the rise in sea levels worldwide and increase in killer storms, Massive crop failures, and widespread extinction of species. When this issue left out of concern it will leads to massive destruction on earth for the future generation. A research predicted that in 2100 global temperature will increase up to 30-50 C (5.40 to 90 Fahrenheit) also sea level rise up to 25 meters (82 feet) source (www.timeforchange.org).Our world’s land scape is 1/3, when it left to increase in sea level it will reduce the place for human existence. A senior scientist Jane Long from the Environmental Defence fund, he warned ‘Florida residents will be under the water’ because of global warming. And the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted that rises in sea level of one to two feet by the middle of this century and a rise in sea level of four to six feet by the end of this century, so a scientists say when it reach to three feet it will be major problems to city like Tampa Bay. Furthermore on that research explains land sinking create perfect storm and it result in flood eventually (source: www.guardianlv.com).

Causes of Global warming ‘Every action has a reaction’ law of sir Isaac Newton suites ideally to this global warming issue. When man looks his own benefits and neglect the responsibility of caring his living place leads to this detrimental issue. In the top of the list initial cause of global warming is occur from carbon dioxide (co2) emission from fossil burning in power plants. Carbon dioxide emission is the main root cause for increasement in temperature on the atmosphere. Excessive exhaust of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere distracts the normal routine of atmosphere condition, the time normal routine destructed it will resulted in the frequency , duration on extreme weather such as floods, drought, heat waves tornadoes. Emission of carbon dioxide from fuel burning also contributes more on increasement in the atmosphere temperature. Especially fossil fuel burning highly occurred by developed and fastest developing countries. To build their economy these countries involve in serious industrialization even though developing countries already accomplish their target. Still large amount of (co2) released by these countries. Presently fastest growing countries like china and India release massive amount of carbon dioxide (Co2) to atmosphere by their industries. According to Scientific America journal illustrate that: present world’s rate of carbon dioxide is excessive, further it says global emission of (Co2) is grew by 3 percentage comparing with last year (2012), from China and India emission of carbon dioxide has increased by 9.9 percent in 2012. The U.N Environment programme’s “Emission Gap 2012” report causation that: even “If nations meets their strictest pledges, the world will not be able to cut its outputs of greenhouse gases in time to prevent”. Source (www.scientificamerican.com) Second major cause of global warming is burning gasoline from transportation. Exhaust of burned gasoline has increased the level of Co2 in the atmosphere. According to the (IPCC) International Panel on Climate Change report on 2007 reported that: “14 percent Co2 added by the fossil fuel burning’; Greenhouse emission from this sector primarily involve on fossil fuel burning on the road, rail, air, and marine transportation. It says 95 percent of world’s transportation depends on the petroleum based fuels” (source: www.epa.gov) even though this emission fully stoppable it need to be find solution, so this research awake us to ponder over the emission of Co2 to atmosphere. Deforestation is another ultimate cause for global warming, the theory of global warming is increasing the temperature in the atmosphere this occur due to greenhouse effect. Forests keep the atmosphere gas cycle balanced when trees were cut down this cycle will be interrupt so it leads to imbalance in temperature on atmosphere so it will be another reason for causing global warming. According to the Environmental Defence Fund (EDF) they informed: a leading green group, 32 million acres of tropical rainforest were cut down each year between 2000 and 2009—and the pace of deforestation is only increasing. “Unless we change the present system that rewards forest destruction, forest clearing will put another 200 billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere in coming decades…,”. Also the article scientific American explain that ‘Exacerbating global warming isn’t the only negative impact of tropical deforestation. It also wipes out biodiversity: More than half of the world’s plant and animal species live in tropical rain forests’ source (www.scientificamerica.com). And the reason article from national geography’s environmental division express that ‘forest soil moist level protected by sun-blocking trees, when trees were cut down soil’s moist will dry out quickly, and also tree helps to perpetuate the water cycle by returning water vapor back into atmosphere so deforestation prevent and disturb this natural cycle and it leads to the former forest lands to become barren deserts’ source (http://environment.nationalgeographic.com)

Effects of global warming

Because of the imbalance in the global temperature made changes in the normal weather condition, the reflection of global warming we faces several environmental challengers day by day; such as sea level rise, increase in killer storms, massive crop failures and wide spared extinction of species. As mentioned earlier many cities were warned it will sink in water in future because of rise of sea level due to global warming. A research indicate that ‘scientist were came up with the strong evidence so far that global warming will significantly increase intensely of the most extreme storm world widely” (www.planetsave.com). Another effect of global warming is extinction of widespread species. A research from National Geography explain in their one of the article: Due to the deforestation leads to global warming because of that millions of habitats loss species from the forests.

Conclusion The effects of global warming alarms us to find solution. To find solution for this issue of global warming two main suggestion can be suggest to implement. Which are 1) Reducing or cutting off the excessive Co2 sector 2) Replacing with alternatives. Some countries have found success in reducing their emissions steadily over a decade, by the complement of government policies and market reaction Belgium, France, US, and Sweden have come up with new energy policies by increasing efficiency and introducing nuclear power and natural gas use instead, it changes Co2 emission from those countries fell by 4-5 percent per year for decade. In order to find quickest solution for reducing emission from fuel burning gasoline from transportation United States Environmental Agency has guided with some suggestions which are energy efficiency by improving the insulation of buildings, traveling in more fuel-efficient vehicles, and using more efficient electrical appliances. Other suggestion is fuel switching by producing more energy from renewable sources and using fuels with lower carbon content. Placing carbon capture and sequestration technology by this carbon dioxide capture sequestration technology they says it greatly reduce Co2 emission to atmosphere. Also for the issue of deforestation logical solution is stop cutting down trees and planting trees. So every single one of us responsibility of caring our mother earth from my view I would recommend that rather than being egocentric let us be socio-centric by helping each other in every aspect, it will help to solve every problems on this earth. *****
